Sonic almost never has moments where he’s embarrassed about being uncool; he doesn’t really care what people think of him. Rainbow had an ENTIRE EPISODE about getting over her "cool" facade, and still has shown moments of trying to act cool. (Tank, anyone?) And let’s not forget that Sonic can’t fly or change the weather, which are huge parts of Rainbow’s everyday life.
Bunnie is a comic/SATam-exclusive character, meaning she only interacted with any of these characters besides Sonic in the comics; and meaning she’s not a mainstream Sonic character. Plus, she’s a robot, doesn’t work on a farm, and has no relatives that I can find quickly, so I’ll assume family isn’t as big a deal for her. (I’ll concede that I don’t know her as well, though.)
Cream is like eight, and isn’t near as easily scared as Fluttershy. Plus, Cheese is technically the helpful one here. (Heroes notwithstanding…) Also, Cream being an "animal lover" is a bit of a stretch; she’s good with Cheese and Chocola, yes, but considering EVERYONE IN THE SERIES IS AN ANIMAL… You’d have just as strong of a case if you chose Tikal; you could even throw in "pacified world-breaking monster."
Amy is far too obsessed, and far too little fun to be even close to Pinkie in terms of personality. Plus, Pinkie only chased after Rainbow in one episode, NOT ACROSS THE ENTIRE SERIES. Pinkie breaks the fourth wall a lot, and defies logic- Amy does not. This is the weakest argument of the lot, honestly.
Blaze doesn’t use magic, she uses pyrokinesis (a minor difference, but considering Twilight’s talent is ACTUAL magic…), and only time traveled in the awful ’06 game. In fact, the time travel comparison might be better used with Sonic; after all, Sonic CD is actually still canon. Also, Twilight isn’t a periphery character who can’t maintain friendships easily without breaking the world’s stability.
I’ll give you the jewel thing between Rouge and Rarity, but besides that, they’re COMPLETE opposites. Rarity is actually nice most of the time and always looks out for her friends. Rouge is a SPY, aka LIES FOR A CAREER. She also is a Femme Fatale; you know, a well-known character archetype based around a woman who takes advantage of her looks? She’s also not really obsessed with fashion or even her career; she wants money, power, and shiny jewels. Meanwhile, Rarity does use her looks, but is still concerned for people, and clearly would never push a pony too far.
